I received two absolutely gorgeous sample wedding albums in the mail the other day and thought I would share.
I sell three different styles of album: flush mount albums, coffee table books & magazine albums.
This first would make a unique guest book. It is a 4×10 flip book with photos from an engagement session I had done in Crescent Beach. I chose the textured aquamarine colour to match the bride-to-be’s outfit (and her eyes!). The photos are on the bottom of the book and guests sign at the top. I used a Sharpie in the sample shown, but I think pretty much any type of pen can work here.

I am SO in love with this 10×10 flush mount album! The black textured leather inlaid with hot pink suede is super sexy. I chose these colours to match the bride’s vibrant bouquet and the fun and passionate personalities of the bride and groom. The layout of the wedding photos is completely custom designed and the bride and groom approve the layout before the album is sent off to be printed and bound. This type of wedding album is my favourite because of the variety of colours, textures and designs available.

A few of my favourite album layouts. The bottom two photos are of the album laying flat and the design spreads across the two pages.

Here are a few more details of the flush mount album. The pages are thick (about the width of a nickel) and very sturdy. The album lays flat when open and the spine of the album can be square (as shown) or rounded. There is also a large variety of cover styles & colour combos to choose from to match your wedding style.

Just a few of the leathers, fabrics and textures you can choose from. So many combinations!

The first two photos below are of a 10×10 coffee table book. It has flexible, but high quality pages and a custom photo cover. It also comes with a protective dust jacket in the same photo as the cover. The coffee table book is custom designed and the bride and groom approve the layout before it is sent off to be made. The last two photos are of an 8.5×11 magazine album. This inkjet printed book is great for brides and grooms on a budget. The bride and groom simply pick out the photos they’d like in the album and will not see it until the album is shipped back to me. The magazine album also comes in a 10×15 size.

I woke up to a wonderful surprise email this morning. Audra’s Photography is a winner of Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice Awards 2012. That means I am in the top 5% of wedding pros nationwide! Here’s a link to some of the reviews from past brides and grooms that helped me achieve this goal. Nice way to start a Monday, that’s for sure!

After meeting online a couple of years ago, Becky & Colin were married at Heritage Hall in Vancouver last Friday – marking my last wedding of 2011. What a fantastic group of people to end the year with! Colin & Becky were so laid back and easy going – even though Colin apparently made a name for himself as a ‘Groomzilla’. I couldn’t imagine. We had so much fun right from the start of the wedding day.
Becky got ready at the Park Inn with her bridesmaids. Her brother stopped in to see his little sister and you could see how proud he was of her. I think he may have even shed a tear or two. ![]()

Becky’s bridal accessories and wedding dress were gorgeous! Maria, from Niche Event Stylists, designed the bridal bouquet and Becky honoured her father with a portrait of him attached to the floral arrangement. On the back side of the charm was a photo of her with her Dad; him in a Maple Leafs jersey, and she in Canucks.

The wedding ceremony was at Heritage Hall in Vancouver. Planning by Eventful Planners and decor by Niche, the room looks so pretty with the red and black damask chair covers.

After the ceremony we had two hours for photos (love!!) so we hit a few different spots around Vancouver, including Olympic Village, Hotel Georgia and Gastown. Here are a few faves from the portrait session.

It was starting to get very cold, windy and rainy by the end of the photo session, but this bridal party was good to go!

Wedding reception back at Heritage Hall. It was cool to see how the room was transformed from the ceremony layout to a stunning reception room. And the details! Oh my goodness… I could make a whole post just for the decor and details from this wedding. The red velvet wedding cake was to die for! This was definitely one of the prettiest weddings I have ever photographed.

Colin & Becky, I wish you the absolute best in your lives together!

Cynthia and Justin moved to South Surrey from Winnipeg just a few weeks ago and wanted to have a family portrait made with their two adorable young boys at the beach. It was about 3° at the beach that day, but I’m sure it was like summer for them!

The boys really had fun running towards my camera. “Again! Again!” ![]()

I hope to see you all again sometime!

Cassandra and Matthew contacted me a while back to make some portraits of their families and to make a special announcement when their parents came to town. Last weekend I met them all at Stewart Farmhouse in South Surrey. Even though it had been threatening rain all week, the light that day was absolutely beautiful and there were still lots of colourful leaves all around.

After photographing the family groupings, Cassandra, Matthew and I planned on a special way of making their big announcement. I set the family up for ‘one last photo’ and asked Cassandra to hold this picture frame for me. Without it facing the group, they teased me that it was like having a school picture with their name on the little chalkboard at the front.

Cassandra turned the frame around, showing only a date. It took a second for everyone to figure it out so she stood up and placed the frame over her belly. I LOVE the look on Matt’s Mom’s face as she slowly realizes what’s going on! It was hugs, kisses and happy tears all around after that! ![]()

Apparently, though, there were some very strong suspicions amongst the family…

Congratulations to all of you on your growing family. I was so happy to be a part of this big surprise!
