Dave and Judy were married last Saturday in an intimate afternoon wedding ceremony at Hazelmere Golf & Country Club in South Surrey. We were so lucky with the weather as it had been pretty crummy for a few days leading up to the wedding, but on the day of it was absolutely gorgeous. Blue skies, puffy clouds, slight breeze = perfection.
The ceremony was performed by the always delightful Tracy Sheppard and brought quite a few laughs as the bride and groom struggled to get their wedding rings on (it was a little warm that morning!). Their children stood alongside them as they were married and at the end of the ceremony they performed a sand ceremony which united the two families into one. I love the colours that each of the kids picked for their sand. The vibrant colours matched their personalities as you can see in these first couple of photos.

The details at this wedding were simple and elegant. I love the pink and white tulips of Judy’s bridal bouquet and the caricature of the bride and groom with their kids was a big hit at the guest signing table. Beverly & Nicole of Hazelmere did an outstanding job of making sure everything went smooth and that all of the guests were taken care of.

Some wedding formals and not-so-formals after the ceremony.

There were lots of kids at this wedding and they had a blast hanging out with each other and playing outside. Of course the best part for the kids is the cake cutting and the toasts. Kids *love* clinking their glasses together and doing the ting-ting-ting on the glasses to get the bride and groom to kiss. Fortunately for Dave & Judy, they didn’t have too many overzealous glass tingers. ![]()

Dave, Judy and kids, I wish you all the best!
Dani was so great in front of the camera when we did this session for her model portfolio last weekend. She needed some new head shots to show off her new gorgeous red hair and nose piercings. She chose two completely different looks for the portraits – one at the beach with a casual and colourful outfit and then a second dressed-up look. Doesn’t she have the most gorgeous eyes?

I met up with Samyta last week to make some updated head shots and portraits for her model portfolio. We had a great time down at White Rock Beach and Samyta absolutely rocked her session! With every click of the button, she struck a new pose. Beautiful, beautiful pictures, Samyta. I can’t wait to say “I knew her when…”

Grant & Carla were married this past Saturday at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver. This is quite possibly one of the prettiest hotels in Vancouver and the staff there was super friendly and helpful. Carla & Grant’s wedding also marked my first of 2012. I was so happy to be a part of their day!
Carla and the ladies got ready in their hotel room before the guys came to meet us and head out for the formal photos before the ceremony. I love the look on Grant’s face as he checked out his gorgeous bride. ![]()

We made a few formal portraits outside the front of the hotel and in the Emerald room where the wedding ceremony would be held.

Bride and groom portraits. The top left photo is my fave of the day. I also LOVE the portrait of Carla sitting on the couch. So elegant and pretty.

Carla’s Dad had a front row seat at the wedding ceremony via Skype. In the bottom right photo his grandchildren are blowing him kisses. ![]()

Carla gives her Dad a wave hello during the wedding ceremony.

The reception room was absolutely beautiful with a backdrop of the Vancouver Convention Centre and the big Earth hanging from it’s lobby. The food looked amazing – seafood, roasted chicken, roast beef – they had it all – and the desserts were to die for! I wanted to fill my camera bag with treats to bring home.
I found Grant’s toy zombie on the head table and figured he needed his own little portrait as well.

“We Love You.”

All the best to you both, Carla & Grant!
